Copying Data in OMERO

It is possible to copy images by creating links. These links are not duplicates and will not be transferred if the original data is moved to another group or owner.

Please note: if the link between the original image and the copy is deleted, the copy will be lost. The copy action will have to be repeated. As a general rule, anything deleted from OMERO is permanently lost, thus be careful on how to operate with your data.

If a group has Read-Write privileges, users can both upload images under other users, and delete images from other users, be careful!

Only the owner of the images or an administrator can create image copies. Click paste in new location.

If multiple copies of an image are necessary, we strongly suggest using duplication, which is only available in the Command Line Interface. Else, please do the annotations in the final location of the data before publishing.
